One of the well-known tournaments in the European Bowling Tour, The Brunswick Madrid Challenge was conducted on 29 June to 7 July 2019.

The final were a Swedish battle between the hottest young bowler in Europe today, William Svensson, just coming with load of medals from the EMC in Munich few weeks earlier, and his fellow teammate Adam Andersson, in short then this was the moment for Adam, and he won the nail-biting final 214 vs 207.  His first EBT title.  In third and fourth place were Kyle Troup from USA and Siti Safiyah Amirah from Malaysia.

For Madrid, this was a record breaking tournament, with 183 athletes in total – thereof 42 women, and total of 581 entries/re-entries.

Cherie Tan from Singapore is leading the women’s division of the tour with 475 points in front of her fellow countrywoman, Bernice Lim at position 2 with 400 points and Anna Andersson, Sweden at position 3 with 358 points.

Adam Andersson from Sweden is leading the men’s division of the tour with 388 points in front of Arnar David Jonsson from Iceland at position 2 with 338 points and Carsten Warming Hansen from Denmark at position 3 with 281 points.

Rafiq Ismail and Sin Lin Jane from Malaysia won the EBT Masters 2019 that has just been finalized in Bowling Chamartin in Madrid.

After 8 games then Rafiq Ismail and Sin Li Jane – both from Malaysia – had good lead in their respective divisions, but in the last 4 games of the men then Kyle Troup and Jesper Svensson tried as best they could to catch up with Rafiq Ismail, but without success. On the women side then Sin Li Jane lead from the beginning and never looked back.

Final standing in each division as follows:

Denmark became the best nation, when the European Men Championships 2019 were conducted
in Dream Bowl Palace, Unterföhring, Germany on the 10-21 June 2019.

Denmark won 2 Gold medals, 1 Silver medal and 3 Bronze medals, closely followed by Sweden
that won 2 Gold medals and 2 Bronze medals.

The Danish titles came in the Doubles event by Mik Stampe and Carsten Warming Hansen and
in the All Events by Thomas Larsen.

The Swedish titles came at the end of the championship; in the Team event by Mattias
Wetterberg, Mattias Olsson, Pontus Andersson, William Svensson and Martin Larsen and then in
the Masters event after 2-1 win to William Svensson over Germany´s Frank Drevenstedt; 238
vs 167, 212 vs 213 and 230 vs 160

Italian title came in Trios by Nicola Pongolini, Alessandro Santu and Antonino Fiorentino.

England got finally one title – in singles by Matty Clayton.

The previously awarded host of Slovenia has informed ETBF that they cannot do the hosting as
the Bowling center in Ljubljana will not be ready.

Another host has been ready to take on the duties of the hosting with this notice, and we will
be looking forward to the ECC 2020 edition.

The European Championship of Champions 2020 will be held at its originally scheduled period
of 19-25 October 2020 in Greece, the Mega Place Bowling Center in Chania, Crete

The ETBF Presidium wants to express the appreciation to the organizers in Greece to step in
and take over the hosting with this short notice.

The Rome Open, which was supposed to be conducted in September in Rome, is cancelled by
the organizers due to various domestic problems.

The organizer expresses the wish to reinsert the tournament into the European Bowling Tour
at a later moment – another year. We obviously hope that they will succeed.

The 22^st edition of the Mediterranean Bowling Championships was concluded on Saturday 6 April in Eden Superbowl, situated in Malta.

These regional championships, which are conducted annually, are open for member federations with a coastline of the Mediterranean See – This time with record participation of 16 federations

The 12th edition of the EBT Masters, the EBT Masters 2019, will be conducted in Bowling Chamartin, in Madrid, Spain on 4 July 2019.

The EBT Master 2019 is conducted on Thursday morning/early afternoon during the week of the VII Brunswick Madrid Challenge, which will be conducted on 29 June to 7 July 2019 in the same centre.

The 8 highest ranked women and the 8 highest ranked men, by the conclusion of the European Bowling Tour 2018, are qualified for participation in the EBT Masters 2019. In cases of excuses, the next on the ranking lists are called –but this time all top 8 – both women and men, have announced their participation.

The ETBF Presidium has decided to award the hosting of the European Senior Championships 2022 to Lovvang Bowling Centre in Aalborg, Denmark.

The championships will be held in the well-known Lovvang Bowling Centre in Aalborg from 28 January to 6 February 2022.

The European Senior Championships is a championship for 50+ bowlers established at ETBF’s Congress in 2017. The 2022 issue of the championships is the second edition of the championships.

The format of the championships is identical with the format of the European Youth Championships, namely 4 male and 4 female athletes participating in Singles, Doubles, Team of Four, All Event and Masters, in total 10 titles.

Dream-Bowl Palace did not manage to continue the record streak they had the last 2 years, but still a total of 1145 entries from 382 athletes in this year’s 16^th issue of the Brunswick Euro Challenge which were concluded in Munich on 24 March 2019

The format of the final day included a step 1 with 52 athletes, bowling 6 games from scratch, continuing with step 2 consisting of 28 athletes, including top 16 from step 1 and top 12 from the qualification, bowling another 6 games starting from scratch.

From step 2, 8 athletes continued into a 7 games round robin with the pin fall from step 2 carried forward.

Martin Larsen ended long time without win on the EBT, but at the same time is winning his 9^th EBT title.    Maria Jose Rodrigues was for the first time with the highest position of women on the EBT tour.

Cherie Tan from Singapore is leading the women’s division of the tour with 475 points, Bernice Lim from Singapore is at position 2 with 400 points and Daphne Tan from Singapore is at position 3 with 300 points.

Arnar David Jónson from Iceland is leading the men´s division for the first time with 326 points in front of Adam Anderson from Sweden with 288 points at position 2 and Carsten Hansen from Denmark with 265 points at position 3.
