The first Greek EBT stop for a long time was conducted in Thessaloniki, 14-22 September, 210 athletes, 47 women and 163 men, battled it out – with total of 514 entries and re-entries.

In the final we saw battle between woman from Malta and man from Greece and the first ever win by Malta woman became real, Cynthia Duca won Montsenigos Eleytherios from Greece in 2 game match 498 vs 455 (including 8 pin handcap per game),  Konstantinos Kitsos – Marios became number 3.

We did not see any changes in the women’s division of the tour as Anna Andersson from Sweden is leading now with 558 points in front of her countrywoman Jenny Wegner with 477 points, Cherie Tan from Singapore is together with Misaki Mukotani from Japan at 3^rd place with 475.

In men’s division was no changes: Arnar David Jonsson, Iceland is leading the men’s division of the tour with 528 points in front of Adam Andersson from Sweden at position 2 with 475 points and Carsten Hansen from Denmark at position 3 with 405 points.

At the last ETBF Congress, ETBF informed that agreement had been made with company bbbs – a company from Greece headed by one of the longtime friends of bowling, Bill Hartofillis. Bill made short introduction at the congress to the delegates about products and possibilities that are in making shirts, and other clothing.

Now we have added button at the menu of the ETBF website, which links directly to the website of ETBF apparel, where it is possible to order clothing with various designs and scripts.

ETBF hopes that various groups of people, coaches, referees and others will be using the opportunity to get clothing with ETBF logo and other markings.

Stephan Unger from Germany won his first EBT title today at the 9th Odense International which was conducted from the 25th of August until today, the 1st of September.

Unger beat last year’s winner, Arnar Davíð Jónsson from Iceland by a single pin in a thrilling finale.

In 3rd place was Patrik Sørensen, Denmark and in 4th place was Carsten W. Hansen Denmark.

The ETBF Congress, which is held every second year, was this time held on 9 June 2019 in Dream Bowl Palace, Unterföhring, where the European Men Championship was conducted from 10-19 June.

About the Congress, we report the following:

Coaches in competition area

From 1^st January 2021 no coaches will be allowed in the competition area, unless they are certified coaches as ETBF Level II coaches or equivalent by one of the national or international programs approved/recognized by ETBF and/or World Bowling

Changed name of the ECC

The full name of the ECC was changed to European Championship of Champions

Formats and schedules of the ETBF Championships

The Presidium was given the mandate to come up with a number of choices to shorten the ETBF championships, this work should be done in good time before next ETBF Congress so all ETBF member federations could have time and possibility to study and have their opinions well in time before the next ETBF Congress.

Elections

The Vice President’s position of ETBF was vacant after the passing away of Kim Thorsgaard Jensen; Valgeir Gudbjartsson, was elected by acclamation for a 4-years period.

Marios Nicolaides, Presidium Member and Marc Beaufays, were both elected for new 4-years period.

Sergey Lisitsyn, Presidium Member, was elected for a two years period

The next ETBF Congress will be held in conjunction with the European Championship of Champions 2021 in Olomouc, Czech.

The program of the European Bowling Tour 2020 has been decided by the ETBF Presidium. The program is presented at the following page and at the ETBF Website: www.etbf.eu

The EBT 2020 is the 21st consecutive tour since the first European Bowling Tour in 2000.

The 13 tournaments adopted in the tour are divided in 5 different categories as follows: 2 EBT Platinum, 1 EBT Gold, 4 EBT Silver, 4 EBT Bronze and 2 EBT Satellite tournaments.

The total prize fund in the EBT 2020 is 679.000€; giving an average prize fund of over 52.000€.

It is a pleasure for ETBF to welcome one new tournaments in the tour, The BOWL for Fun Open Tournament, which will be conducted in Langen, Germany in May.

In addition to this new tournament, 12 tournaments included in the EBT 2019 are included in the EBT 2020 as well.

The highest ranked woman and the highest ranked man by the conclusion of the EBT 2020 will be awarded 1.000 € each.

The 8 highest ranked women and the 8 highest ranked men after the 13 stops are qualified for the 14th EBT Masters in 2021. The host centre of the EBT Masters 2021 will be BOWL for FUN, Langen, Germany

Arnar David Jonsson from Iceland won his second tour stop ever, when he defeated Nicole Sanders from Netherlands in the final of the Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open by Erdinger.

The tournament, which was conducted in Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring, as the 8^th stop in the European Bowling Tour 2019, attracted 233 athletes, that competed for the 48 spots in the final steps on the 21 July.

In Step 5 then following were the 4 players qualified from the earlier steps:

One of the most beautiful locations in Europe, San Marino held the Storm San Marino Open for the 15th time, which was conducted from 6 July until 14 July.

Daniel Fransson picked up his second Tour win after beating Antonino Fiorentino in the final. Final Step 4 was played over 3 games, were the lowest score was eliminated after each game.

After first game, Anna Andersson had the low game of 173 and finished 4th. After the second game, Thomas Larsen from Denmark had the lowest series of 441 in 2 games so he finished in 3rd place and then in the end Daniel Fransson had a series of 695 in 3 games against 686 from Fiorentino.

This was Fransson’s second tour win but his first win came in Tilburg in 2016 in the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel. For the win, Fransson pocketed 8,000 euros. Congratulations Daniel.

One of the well-known tournaments in the European Bowling Tour, The Brunswick Madrid Challenge was conducted on 29 June to 7 July 2019.

The final were a Swedish battle between the hottest young bowler in Europe today, William Svensson, just coming with load of medals from the EMC in Munich few weeks earlier, and his fellow teammate Adam Andersson, in short then this was the moment for Adam, and he won the nail-biting final 214 vs 207.  His first EBT title.  In third and fourth place were Kyle Troup from USA and Siti Safiyah Amirah from Malaysia.

For Madrid, this was a record breaking tournament, with 183 athletes in total – thereof 42 women, and total of 581 entries/re-entries.

Cherie Tan from Singapore is leading the women’s division of the tour with 475 points in front of her fellow countrywoman, Bernice Lim at position 2 with 400 points and Anna Andersson, Sweden at position 3 with 358 points.

Adam Andersson from Sweden is leading the men’s division of the tour with 388 points in front of Arnar David Jonsson from Iceland at position 2 with 338 points and Carsten Warming Hansen from Denmark at position 3 with 281 points.

Rafiq Ismail and Sin Lin Jane from Malaysia won the EBT Masters 2019 that has just been finalized in Bowling Chamartin in Madrid.

After 8 games then Rafiq Ismail and Sin Li Jane – both from Malaysia – had good lead in their respective divisions, but in the last 4 games of the men then Kyle Troup and Jesper Svensson tried as best they could to catch up with Rafiq Ismail, but without success. On the women side then Sin Li Jane lead from the beginning and never looked back.

Final standing in each division as follows:

Denmark became the best nation, when the European Men Championships 2019 were conducted
in Dream Bowl Palace, Unterföhring, Germany on the 10-21 June 2019.

Denmark won 2 Gold medals, 1 Silver medal and 3 Bronze medals, closely followed by Sweden
that won 2 Gold medals and 2 Bronze medals.

The Danish titles came in the Doubles event by Mik Stampe and Carsten Warming Hansen and
in the All Events by Thomas Larsen.

The Swedish titles came at the end of the championship; in the Team event by Mattias
Wetterberg, Mattias Olsson, Pontus Andersson, William Svensson and Martin Larsen and then in
the Masters event after 2-1 win to William Svensson over Germany´s Frank Drevenstedt; 238
vs 167, 212 vs 213 and 230 vs 160

Italian title came in Trios by Nicola Pongolini, Alessandro Santu and Antonino Fiorentino.

England got finally one title – in singles by Matty Clayton.
