Like last year, Jenner Wegner from Sweden had already collected that many points in the tour standing that she was unreachable for anybody in Oslo; even Jenny did not attend the last stop of the tour season.

Jenny Wegner won the women’s division of the tour with 719 points in front of Mai Ginge Jensen from Denmark with 676 points and Ghislaine Sigter van der Tol from the Netherlands with 580 points at position 2 and 3.

Jenny Wegner is, by the following series, strongly dominating the EBT these years:

The leader of the men’s division of the tour, Anthony Simonsen from USA, was reachable for Jesper Svensson from Sweden, but Jesper did not attend the tournament in Oslo, so also the winner of the men’s division was found before the last stop even started.

Anthony Simonsen became the first non-European bowler to win an EBT and even the first non-European bowler to be in Top 3, whatever we are talking about men or women.

Anthony Simonsen won the men’s division of the tour with 594 points in front of Jesper Svensson from Sweden with 537 points and Thomas Larsen from Denmark with 439 points at position 2 and 3.

We are congratulating the two tour winners, who each will be awarded 1.000 € for their victories of their division in the European Bowling Tour 2018.

Eric Sjöberg from Sweden took his first EBT Title ever, when he won the last stop of the season, the Norwegian Open 2018 by Brunswick.

Eric Sjöberg concluded a fantastic day in Oslo with a 276 game, by which he passed a number of competitors in the very last game of the tournament.

In the second last step of the final in Oslo, 16 athletes were playing 3 games, starting from scratch. 8 athletes continued to the final step, playing another 3 games with the pin fall from the previous step carried forward.

Erik Sjöberg from Sweden became the highest ranked man for the first time in his career and the same did Wendy Bartaire from France. Wendy was positioned 11 in the tournament.

218 athletes had found their way to the Norwegian Capital Oslo and Veitvet Bowling Centre, where the Norwegian Open 2018 by Brunswick concluded the 19th season of the European Bowling Tour, the EBT 2018.

We are able to welcome Brunswick Bowling in Rome, which previously housed a tour stop in 2010 and 2011, back as a host centre for a stop in the European Bowling Tour. The new Satellite Tournament in Rome was conducted as the 11th stop of the European Bowling Tour 2018 under the name Rome Open All4Bowling.

The company BowlZone presented a very nice layout for the streaming they did for the organizer. You can find the many videos from the tournament by clicking here.

The tournament reopened in Rome with a fantastic number of not less than 313 athletes taking part, playing as much as 711 entries.

44 athletes were qualified to the final steps of which the first four steps included rounds of 3 games until the number of athletes was reduce to the last 8 remaining athletes.

The Storm Lucky Larsen Masters was conducted for the second time in Malmoe’s Baltiska Bowlinghallen as the 10th stop in the European Bowling Tour 2018.

Last year the tournament opened with a firework of not less than 1.087 bowled entries, and this great number was almost copied in the 2018 issue of the tournament, where 1.058 entries were bowled in Malmoe.

The format of the tournament offered 60 spots for the final steps, of which 27 joined Step 1 to play 4 games starting from scratch on Sunday 9 September in Baltiska.

Top 11 from Step 1 was in Step 2 joined by athletes positioned 9-33 from the qualification, forming a field of 36 athletes playing 4 games starting from scratch.

Top 16 from Step 2 was in Step 3 joined by athletes positioned 1-8 from the qualification, forming a field of 24 athletes playing 8 games starting from scratch.

Sandra Gongora from Mexico became the highest ranked women in a tour stop for the first time in her career from position 20 in the tournament and also Kyle Troup became the highest ranked man for the first time in his career.

Arnar David Jonsson became the first Icelandic bowler to win a tour stop, when he defeated Carsten W. Hansen from Denmark 213 vs. 206 in the one game final of Odense International.

The tournament was, as the 9th Stop of the European Bowling Tour 2018, conducted in Odense Bowling Centre for the 8th consecutive time.

The format of the final in Odense offered a first step over 6 games with 32 athletes taking part, of which the 10 highest ranked was awarded starting pins from 140 pins to the highest ranked down to 10 pins for the 10th ranked.

Step 2 of the final included top 16 from step 1, who added another 4 games to a total of 10 games + starting pins, deciding the top 8 field for the next four final steps.

The last 4 steps of the format offered one game matches as follows:

Step 4: 3 matches, where 3 winners and 1 happy loser continued

The ETBF Presidium has decided to award the hosting of the European Youth Championships 2021 to the French Federation of Bowling and Sport of Quills.

The championships will be held in Cristal Bowling, in Wittelsheim – France from 27 March to 5 April 2021.

The European Youth Championships 2021 will be the 34th issue of the championships, which were held for the first time in 1972.

The ETBF Presidium has decided to award the hosting of the European Senior Championships 2020 to the Austrian Bowling Federation.

The championships will be held in the well-known Plus Bowling Centre in Vienna from 24 January to 2 February 2020.

The European Senior Championships is a new championship for 50+ bowlers established at ETBF’s Congress in 2017, also held in Vienna. The 2020 issue of the championships is indeed the first edition of the championships.

The format of the championships is identical with the format of the European Youth Championships, namely 4 male and 4 female athletes participating in Singles, Doubles, Team of Four, All Event and Masters, in total 10 titles.

Georg Skryten from Norway in Boys Singles and Robert Lindberg and Alfred Berggren from Sweden in Boys Doubles stood for the total European title harvest at the World Youth Championships 2018, which were concluded on 3 August in Detroit, USA.

In the final of the Boys singles, Georg Skryten defeated Ukraine’s Danylo Yatsko 181-176.

In the final of the Boys Doubles, Robert Lindberg and Alfred Berggren defeated Jayde Panella and Blayne Fletcher from Australia 479-383.

The WYC 2018 attracted 82 girls and 132 boys from all over the World.

Jesper Agerbo from Denmark won his first tour stop ever, when he defeated his fellow countryman Thomas Larsen in the final of the Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open by Erdinger.

Thomas Larsen has had a fantastic summer series in the EBT after a win in Madrid, a 4th position in San Marino and a runner up position in Munich.

Maxime de Rooij from The Netherlands became the highest ranked women for the first time in her career, from a position 8 in the tournament.

The tournament, which was conducted in Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring, as the 8th stop in the European Bowling Tour 2018, had attracted 188 athletes, who competed for the 48 spots in the final steps played on 22 July.

40 athletes played 4 games from scratch in step 1, from where top 20 was combined with athletes positioned 5-8 in the qualification for another 4 games starting from scratch in step 2.

Top 12 from step 2 continued together with top 4 from the qualification in step 3, where 4 more games was played starting from scratch, followed by step 4, where top 8 from step 3 played 4 games with the 4 games pin fall from step 3 carried forward.

In step 5, the 4 best after the 8 games in step 3+4, added another game to a 9 gams total, which determined the two athletes playing the last game of the tournament in step 6, deciding the winner and the runner up over a total of 10 games played in step 3-6.
