The Kegel Aalborg International 2023 was conducted in Aalborg, Denmark 21-28 May 2023. Total of 163 Entries and 256 re-entries were bowled during the week by 163 athletes, where of 34 were women.

After 4 final steps it was down to 2 final matches, results as follows:


Match 1 for 3rd place:

Jonas Iversen, Denmark vs Osku Palermaa, Finland – 231 vs 204


Match 2 for the title:

Adam Andersson, Sweden vs Thomas Larsen, Denmark – 213 vs 198

Final Standing:

1st place: Adam Andersson, Sweden

2nd Place: Thomas Larsen, Denmark

3rd Place: Jonas Iversen, Denmark

4th Place: Osku Palermaa, Finland.

The highest woman became Mai Ginge Jensen, Denmark,

 

Top spots in the ranking are still same; Verity Crawley, England, and Jesper Svensson, Sweden is on top of the women´s and men´s ranking.

The Bowl For Fun Open 2023 was conducted in Langen, Germany during 13-21 May 2023. Total of 733 Entries and re-entries were bowled during the week by 225 athletes, where of 29 were women.

 

After 3 final steps it was down to 5 person stepladder, results as follows:

 

Match 1:

Carl Eklund, Sweden vs Paul Purps, Germany 229 vs 222; Paul Purps – 5th place

Match 2:

Carl Eklund, Sweden vs Teodor Samuelsson, Sweden 233 vs 258;  Carl Eklund – 4th Place

Match 3:

Teodor Samuelsson, Sweden vs Ben Robinson, England 234 vs 248;  Teodor Samuelsson -3rd.

Match 4.

Ben Robinson, England vs Jesus Briceno, Spain 249 vs 213; Jesus Briceno – 2nd

 

Winner:   Ben Robinson, England.

 

This was the first EBT victory for Ben Robinson, England.

The highest woman became Essi Pakarinen, Finland,

Dear Friends of the European Bowling Family,

I unfortunately have to bring you the information that our EBF president, Addie Ophelders, has due to health issues and doctors advise decided to resign from all his responsibilities as the President of EBF with immediate effect.

We have been asked by his family to limit all communication with Addie to absolute zero for the time being, as he is medicated and resting.’

Addie was first elected as FIQ-EZ Vice President in 1985 and was then elected as President at the FIQ-EZ Congress in 1989 and has been EBF President from then.

We wish Addie speedy recovery, and we will meet him soon again.

Undersigned will be acting as Interim President until EBF Congress in October 2023

The 53rd Brunswick Ballmaster Open 2023 was conducted in Helsinki, Finland during 6 – 15 January 2023. Total of 1081 Entries and re-entries were bowled during the week by 500 athletes, where of 72 were women.

 

After 3 steps of the final then it came down to top 4 playing TV finals as follows:

 

Semifinals:

Kim Bolleby, Sweden vs Nicola Pongolini, Italy.                                                  204 vs 181

Santtu Tahvanainen, Finland vs Jesper Svensson, Sweden                                             218 vs 228

 

And then final:

Jesper Svensson, Sweden vs Kim Bolleby, Sweden                                              267 vs 212

 

This was the second time victory at Ballmaster Open for Jesper Svensson, he also won in 2013.

The highest woman became Sanna Oksanen, Finland,

 

Verity Crawley, England, climbed to the top of the Women Ranking and Kim Bolleby, Sweden is on top of the Men´s ranking.  See here.

Now will be some pause on the EBT until May, were we will be in Langen Germany for the first version of Bowl for Fun Open and then week later in Kegel Aalborg Intl. Aalborg, Denmark.

As this was the second tournament on the EBT2023 this is also the status of the ranking

Women | Men

The AIK International Tournament 2023 was conducted in Stockholm, Sweden during 26 December 2022 – 8 January 2023.   Total of 803 Entries and re-entries were bowled during the week by 324 athletes, where of 62 were women.

 

After 3 steps of the final then it came down to top 3 playing stepladder to win, and results as follows:

Kim Bolleby, Sweden                         279 WINNER

As this was the first tournament on the EBT2023 then this is also the status of the ranking

Women | Men

The FM Mattsson Christmas Tournament 2022 was conducted in Mora, Sweden during 10 – 18 December 2022. Total of 338 Entries and re-entries were bowled during the week by 147 athletes, where of 17 were women.

 

After 3 steps of the final then it came down to top 4 playing 1 game and lowest drop out etc.. Results:

Kevin Lindbadh, Sweden                     224             214 eliminated

Robin Noberg, Sweden                       212             247     222 eliminated

Jesper Svensson, Sweden                   192 Eliminated

 

This was the second EBT Title for this talented young athlete.

 

The highest woman became Peppe Kosteri, Finland, for the first time in her carrier.

 

The EBT Ranking was also concluded this time as this was the last tournament in the EBT Tour, and winners of the EBT Tour 2022 were in Anna Andersson and Tomas Käyhkö

 

The final of the Tour – The EBT Masters 2023 will be held in San Marino during the EBT 2023 stop there, on 12.07.2023

The Brunswick Open 2022 was conducted in Wittelsheim, France during 27 September -2 October 2022.   Total of 483 Entries and re-entries by 192 athletes, where of 29 were women, bowled during the week.

After 3 steps of the final then it came down to top 8 playing lowest vs highest seeded,  the 4 remaining were:

 

Maxime Dubois, France,

Dominic Barrett, England

Jesse Kallio, Finland

Tomas Kayhko, Finland.

 

In the next step both the Fins droped out, and that come to final as follows:

Dominic Barrett, England 238 + 256 = 494  vs  Maxime Dubois France 189 + 238 = 427

The highest woman became Janin Ribguth, Germany.

 

There were change of the leader in the tour Mens ranking where Tomas Kayhko edged in front of Kim Bolleby

  • Correction in the men’s ranking as the administrator had the wrong info, and this affected ranking points for both Tomas Kayhko and Kim Bolleby amongst others. The administrator is apologizing to all those affected.

The Dimitris Karetsos Tournament 2022 was conducted in Athens, Greece during 16-25 September 2022.   Total of 435 Entries and re-entries by 155 athletes, where of 28 were women, bowled during the week.

 

After four steps of the final then it came down to stepladder, and results in the stepladder as follows:

The highest woman became Cynthia Duca, Malta, but she did win the last Dimitris Karetsos tournament in 2019.

 

There were no change of the leaders in the tour ranking men or women, in the men’s ranking Kim Bolleby, Sweden is leading, and in the women’s ranking it is Anna Andersson, Sweden

The Norwegian Open 2022 by Storm was conducted in Hönefoss, Norway during 9-18 September 2022.   Total of 381 Entries and re-entries by 114310 Athletes, where of 30 were women, bowled during the week.

After four final steps then top 8 played further 3 games carrying the scores forward from final step 4; in the first game then it was obvious who was ready, willing and able to land the price of 45.000 NOK….   Results for the top 3 ended as follows:
